FAQ
How do I use the identity lifecycle tool calculator?
Set each slider to how much that criterion matters to your program, from 0 (ignore it) to 10. The table re-ranks the eight tools as you move them. Only the ratio between sliders matters, so 2 and 4 give the same result as 5 and 10.
Why does only one tool show a cost?
Microsoft Entra ID Governance is the only tool on this site with a published per-user price for its governance product ($7.00 per user per month, paid yearly, with Entra ID P1 or P2 required). Okta publishes Workforce Identity suite prices, but Identity Governance sits in suites priced on inquiry. The other vendors quote per deal, so we show "Not published" rather than an estimate.
Do the criterion scores change when I move the sliders?
No. The per-criterion scores and their written reasons stay fixed; they are listed on the comparison page and each tool's profile. The sliders only change how much each criterion counts toward the total.
What do the default weights mean?
They are our published weights: 22, 18, 15, 12, 13, 12 and 8 out of 100, shown here as 2.2 to 0.8. They put disconnected-app coverage and orphan account discovery first because that is the problem this reference covers. The editorial method explains each one.
